Verizon announces layoffs across WA, including Bellingham’s Meridian location
Verizon has announced statewide layoffs across Washington, including at Bellingham’s Meridian store.
The company will lay off 165 Washington employees permanently, according to a notice filed with the state Employment Security Department under the Workforce Adjustment Retraining Notification Act or WARN.
The layoffs will start Jan. 23.
Eleven positions will be eliminated at the Bellingham location at 4303 Meridian St.
No layoffs have been announced for other Verizon locations in Bellingham, Lynden and Ferndale.
Layoffs are also planned for Verizon locations in Bellevue, Burlington, Covington, Federal Way, Kent, Kirkland, Lakewood, Marysville, Olympia, Redmond, Renton, Seattle, Silverdale, Spokane, Spokane Valley, Tacoma, Tukwila, Vancouver, Wenatchee, Woodinville, Yacolt and Yakima.
