Whatcom Roundup: New Lummi Island restaurant proposed, cinema opening

New Lummi Island restaurant and bar proposed

A liquor license application has been filed for a new restaurant, The Galley, at 2106 S Nugent Rd., Lummi Island, the previous location of The Islander Store. The application was filed on July 26 and has not been approved as of July 31.

Pickford Grand opens

Pickford Grand, the new cinema in downtown Bellingham from the owners of Pickford Film Center, will host a grand opening event at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 1. The free event includes a ribbon cutting, exploring the new theater, free popcorn, and other snacks and drinks available for purchase.

The Pickford Grand is at 105 Grand Ave. in downtown Bellingham.
