Mount Baker Ski Area announces opening date after receiving snow over the weekend
The Mount Baker Ski Area has announced its plans to open for the winter after receiving heavy snowfall.
During the weekend of Dec. 8-10, the mountain received 17 inches of new snow, readying the ski area to open with limited operations on Wednesday, Dec. 13 for season pass holders only. The ski area will be open for all guests on Thursday, Dec. 14.
The ski area will be preparing the mountain over the next few days for the possible opening.

To celebrate the holiday season, the Mount Baker Ski Area is also bringing Santa in from the North Pole on his very own snowmobile for free photos Dec. 16-17.
