We asked readers where to find the best book store in Whatcom County, and the votes are in.

The poll had five local book shop options in Whatcom County, including Eucatastrophe Coffee and Used Books, Griffintown’s Cozy Corner Books, Henderson Books, Village Books and Paper Dreams, and Eclipse Bookstore & Fine Art.

The unscientific poll received 339 votes.

The best book store in Whatcom County

Village Books and Paper Dreams received 187 votes, or 55% of the total votes to top the list of the best book store in Whatcom County.

The bookshop has two locations in Whatcom County, bringing a wide variety of books, magazines, and unique products to Fairhaven and Lynden.

Both shops offer in-store shopping as well as events, personal shopping services, curbside pick-up, home delivery to a limited area, and shipping.

The large Fairhaven store also homes Evolve Chocolate + Cafe upstairs, serving a variety of food and drinks.

The Fairhaven shop is known as a beloved staple of Bellingham and is also well-loved online, receiving a 4.8-star rating from 1,605 Google reviews and a 4.4-star rating from 114 reviews on Yelp.

The Fairhaven location is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is at 1200 11th St. The Lynden location is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and is at 430 Front St.

In second place was Eucatastrophe Coffee and Used Books in Lynden with 96 votes, followed by Henderson Books in Bellingham with 32 votes.
