Faster to the Fun: Is Carnival's front-of-the-line pass worth it?
Carnival Cruise Line's Faster to the Fun (FTTF) package promises something every cruiser wants: less waiting, more vacationing. It's basically a Carnival cruise fast pass to the front of the line for boarding and debarkation, bundled with a few other VIP benefits.
Faster to the Fun also gives you early access to your stateroom to drop off your carry-on bags before the room is ready, expedited luggage delivery so you can unpack sooner, priority dining reservations, and priority access to guest services for questions.
The package price ranges from $80 per cabin for some short cruises to $210 or more for sailings of nine days or longer. It often sells out since the privileges can only be extended to a limited number of passengers on board. But at a price that varies by sailing length and ship, and rises with demand, Faster to the Fun isn't a no-brainer for the average budget cruiser.
Here's how to figure out if FTTF is worth factoring into your cruise budget.

Faster to the Fun may be most worth it for short cruises, and sailings on bigger ships
Maximizing every moment of vacation time matters even more when you're taking a short cruise of three to five days. Purchasing Faster to the Fun for a short cruise allows you to be among the first to board the ship and enjoy your vacation as quickly and seamlessly as possible.
If you're sailing on a larger Carnival ship from a busy port like Miami or Galveston, Texas, Faster to the Fun can also make embarkation and debarkation quicker and less stressful, especially if you're traveling with kids or need to get off the ship quickly to make your flight home.
Passengers who purchased it for cruises on Excel-class ships often say the front-of-the-line access really makes a difference on ships carrying more than 5,000 passengers.

"I am currently on the Carnival Jubilee. We did FTTF and it has already been worth it and we're only on day two," jkim_45 shared in a discussion in the CarnivalCruiseFans Reddit community on June 21. "First off there was an extremely long line outside for checking in/security and we breezed right by everyone. Literally got dropped off by our shuttle and were standing in line to board in about five to 10 minutes compared to possibly waiting close to an hour."
The passenger also noted that purchasing the package paid off when they needed help from guest services.
"Secondly, we've already had to go to customer service three or four times and had a dedicated line, so we were seen each time in less than five minutes. Just those two things alone have made $199 FTTF worth for us so far," jkim_45 added.
Faster to the Fun offers added benefit for itineraries with a tender port
If your cruise itinerary includes a tender port like Belize or Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, you'll get priority boarding for the water shuttle to shore with Faster to the Fun, expanding your fast-pass benefits.
"I got FTTF when we cruised to Cabo, and it was necessary because you take the tender boats, and waiting around for those when you are only there for so long, it makes a difference. All the other priority lines were bonuses beyond that," RapGod244 shared in the Reddit thread.

Ultimately, deciding whether Faster to the Fun is worth it depends on your vacation style and how much you value the chance bypass lines. Compare the package price against what you'd spend waiting - not just in minutes, but in vacation mood.
Some cruisers say minimizing wait times during their vacation matters a great deal, while others find more value in putting the $100-200 per cabin cost of the FTTF package toward specialty dining or shore excursions.
The bottom line: Faster to the Fun is for cruisers who hate lines more than they hate spending extra money on vacation. Check the package's pricing for your sailing, and weigh it against your itinerary, ship size, and your family's tolerance for waiting.
