Advance Care Planning

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 12: Free event, “What’s Next: Housing Options As We Age.” Local experts discuss aging in place, in-home care, rehabilitation care, adult family homes, independent living, assisted living, home modifications, durable Medicare equipment, family caregiving, and the Village Concept: Bellingham At Home. Also, community organations will have representatives to discuss their services with people who attend.

Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship

Mended Hearts is a nonprofit group of volunteers who support heart patients and their caregiver families. Events open to the public. Call 360-933-1282.

10 a.m. Jan. 9: “What’s in Your Medicine Cabinet? And Why Are You Taking These Drugs?” A pharmacy team from PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center will discuss classes of heart drugs, what they are used for, and why people take them. They will be available to review your medications, so bring a list of your medications, dosage, and frequency you take them. You can include over-the-counter drugs to check for interactions with your regular prescriptions. St. Luke’s Community Health Education Center, room A, 3333 Squalicum Parkway.
