Bellingham Public Library

4 to 5:30 p..m. July 7, 14, 21 and 28: English conversation class for people who are learning English. Offered by Whatcom Literacy Council.

2 to 4 p.m. July 6, 13, 20 and 27: One-on-one tech coaching to learn basic computer and Internet skills.

1 to 2 p.m. July 16: Learn about free and low-cost apps for mobile devices. Bring your smart phone or tablet.

Bellingham Senior Activity Center

5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, July and August: Meet at the center to explore and sample local microbreweries.

1:30 p.m. July 7: Free support group for caregivers, family and friends of people with memory loss. Sponsor: Alzheimer Society of Washington.

12:30 p.m. July 17: EZ bingo, with cash prizes. $10 for eight games; three cards per game. Public welcome.

Lynden Senior Center

7 to 11 a.m. July 18: Raspberry Festival pancake breakfast, 401 Grover St. Cost: $5. All-you-can-eat pancakes with raspberries, plus scrambled eggs, sausage, orange juice, coffee. Open to all.

Mended Hearts

Aug. 1: Dr. M. Cristy Smith, a cardiothoracic surgeon, will discuss “What’s New in Less Invasive Heart Surgery,” at St. Luke’s Community Health Education Center, room A, 3333 Squalicum Parkway. The free public talk is part of the meeting of Mended Hearts, a nonprofit group that supports heart patients and their families. July 24: Tour Indian Arm fjord in British Columbia. Depart Bellingham on the MV Harbour Princess to travel through Burrard Inlet into the scenic fjord. Trip includes buffet lunch.

July 26: Bus to Seattle’s Paramount Theater to see the Tony-winning Oz musical “Wicked.”

July 31: Enjoy round-trip transportation to the Anacortes Art Festival for 275 juried artisan booths, 30 food vendors, and three stages of free music.

Sept. 6-13: Explore the history and scenery of Boston, Rhode Island and the eastern seaboard.

Sept 11-20: Visit Idaho, Montana and the Dakotas. Destinations include the Black Hills, Glacier National Park, Little Big Horn battlefield, and Mt. Rushmore National Memorial.

Oct. 9-14: See New Mexico’s Hot Air Balloon Festival and tour Sante Fe, including the Georgia O’Keeffe museum.

Oct. 10-17: Experience Ireland, including Dublin, Guinness Storehouse and Old Jameson Distillery, Blarney Castle, and Skellig Michael.

Oct. 21-24: Stay aboard the ocean liner Queen Mary in Long Beach, Calif., and enjoy a sea cruise to Catalina Island.
