For Aletha McCauley and Irishea Munsen, Orchard Park Retirement is home.

McCauley, 96, has made it home for the past 18 months; Munsen, 70, has resided there for the past year.

Munsen’s mother-in-law lived there and was “very happy,” Munsen said, so she followed her lead.

“There are loving and caring people,” Munsen said. “I do as many activities as I can and they are great. You use your brain, enjoy music and do activities with others.”

McCauley chooses not to participate in many activities but her friends do and enjoys them, she said.

When it comes to the best part about living at Orchard Park Retirement, it’s a no-brainer.

“The staff and the care I get and the feeling of home and family,” McCauley said.

As a bonus, her family visited several times and “loved it,” she said.

Orchard Park Retirement, 844 W. Orchard Drive, is currently home to 93 residents who range from age 62 to 101. It is one of the community’s most sought-after retirement homes and caters to those 60 and older.

“We are warm, welcoming and very friendly,” said Vickie LoGrande, community relations manager.

The entire management teams steps up to perform and provide all aspects of assisted living, LoGrande said. They have provided care, helped bathe and dress residents, served their meals and even helped with the toileting.

“Even a little bit of maintenance, if necessary,” LoGrande said.

That is large part what sets them apart from similar retirement facilities, LoGrande said.

Orchard Park Retirement, which is just two minutes from Bellis Fair Mall, houses 82 suites, a spacious dining room serving home-style meals, a fireplace library stocked with popular reading materials and recreation and entertainment.

Each offers ample space for you to entertain family and friends. Every suite features the comforts of home, including kitchenettes with a microwave and refrigerator.

From the dining room to the gardens, to the fireplace library and every stop in between, Orchard Park is designed to smell and feel like a cozy home.

“We are clean, comfortable, affordable, (serve) three meals per day and our bus runs three days a week to your appointments,” LoGrande said.
