A Chilliwack, B.C., woman remained hospitalized Sunday afternoon, Oct. 4, after she wrecked her motorcycle on Highway 9 near Nooksack.
Janet L. Isbister, 50, was in critical condition at St. Joseph hospital, where she was rushed by ambulance following the crash, which occurred about 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, on Highway 9 near Lindsay Road, just north of the Nooksack city limits.
A Washington State Patrol report said Isbister apparently lost control of her 2004 Harley-Davidson on a curve and struck a pole. She was thrown from the bike, which was heavily damaged.
Excessive speed was blamed as the cause of the wreck, and the report said Isbister was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Charges were pending, according to the report.
