“Chris and I have some sad yet exciting news. We are moving on from this chapter of our lives and will be closing Homeschool BBQ at the end of March. We absolutely loved serving the community, and we are forever grateful to all our loyal and loving customers. You have made these past 3 years a wonderful experience,” the post states.

But according to a recent Facebook post and the restaurant’s website, the closing has now been postponed to Sunday, April 12.

“We are CLOSING PERMANENTLY APRIL 12th 2026. Come and get some tasty BBQ before it’s too late! Stay wonderful and we’ll see ya soon,” the restaurant’s Facebook profile page states.

The restaurant is known for its in-house smoked meats, chili mac and cheese, baby back ribs, buttermilk biscuits, and a variety of sauces ranging in flavors from guava habanero to black garlic and bourbon.

The cocktail menu also includes some unique drinks made with homemade shrubs, lemonade, bloody mary mix and ginger brews, such as a Southern strawberry lemonade cooler and a “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink Paloma.”

Homeschool BBQ is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Sunday at 521 Kentucky St. in Bellingham.
