A new ice cream, milkshake and bubble waffle shop is opening in downtown Bellingham and it promises to transport visitors to London with its decor, imported treats and bright ambiance.

Love from London is set to open at noon Saturday, March 1, and is inspired by a recent father-son trip to London.

“The owner and his son took at trip to Scotland and England and had such a great time we wanted to bring back a part of the experience to Bellingham for people to enjoy,” said Casey Shyer, executive chef at Love from London.

As visitors enter the new eatery, a full-sized red telephone booth, a life-size London Guard, a wall mural of Big Ben and other English nods decorate the shop, teleporting you from downtown Bellingham to London.

“Nothing looks quite like this in Bellingham. This fully transports you. The owner did not let one detail go unnoticed in the design of the shop,” said Carly Shyer, front of house employee at Love from London.

The shop took over the previous location of JoJo’s Doughnuts, another unique dessert shop, and followed in its footsteps by providing Bellingham with unique desserts they “won’t find anywhere else,” Carly Shyer said.

The shop serves a variety of bubble waffles filled with Edaleen Dairy ice cream and topped with a variety of toppings like fresh mint, toasted marshmallow, chocolate-covered coffee beans, Biscoff cookies, banana slices, salted caramel sauce and more. Guests can build their own bubble waffle sundae, or choose a combination from the menu.

Along with stacked-high waffles, guests can also enjoy decadent milkshakes with many toppings, ice cream by the scoop, and exclusive English candy bars, sweets and beverages from abroad.

For vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free diets, the shop has a variety of waffle batters, ice cream and toppings available.

Love From London will be open regularly from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 1301 Commercial St.

As the shop provides some new treats to downtown Bellingham, the mission is clear: provide a unique spot for those wanting to try something new, and experience a taste of London in their neighborhood.

“Teleport yourself to London in a matter of minutes. See timeless icons and pieces of London while enjoying over 20 different candies and sodas you can only find at Love from London,” Casey Shyer said.

“Most everyone in Bellingham is not really gonna be able to see London physically, and it’s sad. So this is basically some of the closest some people are ever gonna get, and we worked really hard to make it as authentic as possible,” Carly Shyer said.
