Red Star Taco Bar, a Mexican restaurant that first revealed plans to open a new location in Bellingham in March, recently announced when the restaurant will open.

The restaurant currently has locations in Seattle and Tacoma, serving “eclectic tacos, frozen margaritas and high-quality tequila in an upbeat setting with late-night hours,” according to the restaurant’s website.

Red Star Taco Bar first planned to open in mid-June, according to previous reporting by The Bellingham Herald.

However, recently owners posted that the plan is to open in “mid-September,” and the company currently is hiring, according to its website. The restaurant is currently filling positions and taking applications online.

“Bellingham, we are so excited to be here and share our love of good food and tequila with this magical city,” a message on the website states.

The website also confirmed the restaurant’s operating hours, which will be 4 p.m. to midnight daily.

The new restaurant will be at 1327 N State St., the previous location of Jack’s BBQ, across the street from Schweinhaus Biergarten and Aslan Depot.
