The poll had eight local restaurant options in Whatcom County, including K-Pop Chicken and Beer, Scotty Browns, The Filling Station, Alger Bar & Grille and The Black Cat.
The unscientific poll received 166 votes.
The best fried chicken in Whatcom County
Bantam Kitchen & Bar received 67 votes, or 40% of the total, to top the list of the best fried chicken in Whatcom County.
Bantam is known for its fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, Southern-style sides and cocktails. The restaurant’s menu features poutine, hush puppies, chicken and waffles, spicy hot, golden and garlic and herb chicken, mac and cheese, parmesan grits and a variety of dipping sauces.
The restaurant is also popular online, receiving a 4.6-star rating from 256 Google Reviews and a 4.3-star rating from 163 reviews on Yelp.
Bantam Kitchen & Bar is open from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 4-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 1327 Railroad Ave. in Bellingham.
In second place was K-Pop Chicken and Beer with 30 votes, followed by Alger Bar & Grille with 28 votes and The Filling Station with 14 votes.
Chain restaurants were not included in the poll.
