We asked readers where to find the best sweet potato fries in Whatcom County and the votes are in.

The poll had 12 local restaurant options in Whatcom County, including Boomers Drive-In, Red Robin, The Loft Restaurant and Aslan Brewing Co.

The unscientific poll received 102 votes.

The best sweet potato fries in Whatcom

Fiamma Burger received 30 votes to top the list of the best sweet potato fries in Whatcom County.

Fiamma Burger has served burgers, fries, poutine, milkshakes and slushies since it opened in 2017. The restaurant is known for its hormone-free and all-natural Northwest beef, and buns made locally by Avenue Bread.

The restaurant is also popular online, receiving a 4-star rating from 422 reviews on Yelp.

Fiamma Burger is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and is at 1309 Railroad Ave. in Bellingham.

Following Fiamma Burger was Bayou on Bay with 26 votes.

Bayou on Bay is a cajun, creole and Southern cuisine restaurant that opened in 2007. It’s menu includes gumbo, po boys, jambalaya, shrimp and crab cakes.

The restaurant is popular online, receiving a 3.5-star rating from 459 Yelp reviews.

Bayou on Bay is open from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday and is at 1300 Bay St. in Bellingham.

In third place was Aslan Brewing Co. with 15 votes, followed by Boomers Drive-In with eight votes.
