Valentine’s Day is typically full of flowers, chocolates, romantic dinners and being with loved ones. From finding the perfect gift to a great dinner spot, we’ve rounded up five romantic restaurants for you and your Valentine in the Bellingham area.

Anthony’s Hearthfire Grill

Anthony’s Hearthfire Grill is a beachfront favorite, with locations all over the Pacific Northwest.

Anthony’s offers a dinner menu with a variety from garlic-herb rotisserie chicken and barbecued garlic prawns, a Northwest tenderloin filet, margarita prawn fettuccine, to lobster and prosciutto mac ‘n cheese.

They also will be offering a special Valentine’s Day menu. This romantic menu features filet Wellington, steak and scampi prawns, and filet Oscar, as well as champagne to share with your valentine.

Anthony’s Hearthfire Grill is also home to delicious desserts such as burnt cream, apple bread pudding, and chocolate caramel jar pies.

The restaurant is located on Squalicum Harbor in Bellwether on the Bay, with beautiful views of the San Juan Islands at 7 Bellwether Way, and is open 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

Lombardi’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar

Lombardi’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar is a romantic restaurant that is perfect for Valentine’s Day, and is offering a special Valentine’s Day menu.

The special menu is available from Feb. 12-14 and features starters, lamb, halibut, and chocolate brulé. The Valentine’s menu also features Valentine’s cocktails such as The Flirt, made with vodka, prosseco, Cointreau, pineapple juice, cranberry and cherry.

Lombardi’s traditional dinner menu includes a variety of entrees from chicken Parmigiano, salmon piccata, New York steaks and Sicilian lamb meatballs. Lombardi’s also serves traditional Italian desserts like tiramisu, New York cheesecake, various flavors of gelato and chocolate mousse.

“Lombardi’s is great for Valentine’s Day because it’s right on the water, we dim the lights and have romantic Italian food and desserts, as well as a menu of Valentine’s specials to offer. I’ve been in this business for 20 years, and all of the staff, the waiters, chefs, bartenders, hostesses, everyone cares a lot and are more interested in tables having a good time than just getting tips or making money,” said Jackie White, general manager of Lombardi’s Bellingham location.

Lombardi’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar is located at 21 Bellwether Way, Suite 112, and is open from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and noon to 9 p.m. Friday-Saturday.

Lighthouse Bar and Grill

Lighthouse Bar and Grill is located inside Bellingham’s Hotel Bellwether, a beautiful waterfront location offering amazing views during your meal.

The Lighthouse Bar and Grill’s dinner menu offers fresh seafood and more casual fare dishes such as a steakhouse burger and Alaskan crab cakes, filet mignon, pan-roasted black cod and mushrooms and bucatini.

The Lighthouse Bar and Grill also serves decadent desserts such as chocolate pot de crème, frozen chocolate mousse torte, pineapple upside-down cake and New York cheesecake.

The restaurant is located inside the hotel at 1 Bellwether Way and is open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Mambo Italiano Café

Mambo Italiano Café is a traditional Italian restaurant owned and operated by Sam Tino. According to its website, “Owner and Executive Chef Sam Tino is a 2nd Generation Restaurateur who grew up in an Italian restaurant. Passion for food runs in the family, and from a young age, Sam learned that first and foremost, fresh ingredients make quality meals.”

The passion for food is seen in the dinner menu, as Mambo’s Italiano Café features a large variety of homemade pizzas, pastas and more such as pollo Parmesan, shrimp linguine, fettuccine Alfredo, Mambo’s Rustic Italian pizza, or a backcountry calzone.

The traditional Italian cuisine does not end here, as Tino offers desserts from tiramisu, key lime pie, chocolate torte and cheesecakes for all Valentine’s with a sweet tooth.

The restaurant is located at 1302 12th St. and is open noon to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Keenan’s at the Pier

Keenan’s at the Pier has a beautiful waterfront location inside The Chrysalis Inn & Spa and is offering a special Valentine’s Day menu to fit the romantic atmosphere.

The exclusive four-course menu is only available on Valentine’s Day from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and with an appetizer, soup or salad, intermezzo, entree and dessert.

The exclusive menu offers dishes such as fresh Judd Cove oysters, whiskey crab soup, sweet-and-sour braised rabbit, Wagyu steak, dark cherry sorbet and salted caramel creme brulee at $90 a person.

Keenan’s traditional dinner menu offers more choices, featuring truffle Parmesan gnocchi, cider-brined pork chops, pan-roasted filet mignon and more.

The restaurant is located at 804 10th St. and is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
