Activities and events this week include a Hispanic heritage festival, the Lynde 500, a showing of “Casablanca,” the Lummi Island market, and library crafts.

Hispanic Heritage

The 15th annual Fiestas Patrias celebrates Hispanic Heritage month with food, music, dancing horses, and the popular dance group Chicas Reinas from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, at Pioneer Park, 2004 Cherry St., Ferndale. Admission $1, free for veterans. A dance open to all ages is 8 p.m. to midnight: Admission is $20 per person in advance and $25 door, with ages 14 and younger free with family.
