Out With Kids: Celebrate nature at Procession of the Species in Bellingham
The 12th annual Procession of the Species parade, featuring colorful and imaginative costumes and floats celebrating nature and the environment, is at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 2, starting behind the Bellingham Public Library from the corner of Lottie and North Commercial streets.
It continues north on Commercial to West Holly Street, turning right ( west) and ending at Maritime Heritage Park, where closing activities are planned. See a video of last year’s event on YouTube at “ Bellingham Procession of the Species Parade 2014”
To be part of the parade, meet at 3:30 behind the library, which is 210 Central Ave. Three rules: No words (spoken or written); no live animals; no motorized vehicles. For more information, go online to bpots.org or call 360-778-7000.
