Here's where to find Easter Egg hunts in Whatcom County

Time to get the fixings ready for egg salad sandwiches, as youngsters will be gathering Easter eggs this weekend at churches, parks, restaurants, and other locations around Whatcom County. Be aware that inclement weather might cancel some events. All are free unless noted.

Saturday

Mt. Baker Golden Egg Hunt 9 a.m. Mt. Baker Ski Area, Milepost 53, Mount Baker Highway, 360-734-6771. More than 4,000 eggs with more than $18,000 in prizes will be hidden on the slopes of Mt. Baker Ski Area, with four age-group hunts; ages 0-2 and 3-4 egg hunt area is next to White Salmon Day Lodge; and the hunt area for ages 5-7 and 8-10 is a 5-minute walk uphill from the parking lot. All hunts are accessible by foot; no need to ski or snowboard to them. Every kid will get a special Egg Hunt T-shirt and prize. The hunt is open to all ages of skiers and snowboarder riding the lifts on Saturday. Prizes include snowboards, jackets, headphones, and lots more. The Golden Egg grand prize is a 2016-17 Mt. Rome Grange Easter Egg Hunt 9-11:30 a.m., Rome Grange, 2821 Mount Baker Highway. For kids through age 12. Kids will be divided into three age groups. Some eggs will have candy and others will have a coupon for a prize. There will be a large cut-out bunny for photos.

The Great Community Easter Egg Hunt 10-10:30 a.m., Pioneer Field, 2015 Cherry St., Ferndale. For ages 1-12, with more than 6,000 eggs. Families should bring their own baskets and cameras to take photos with the Easter Bunny, who will be available from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Lettered Streets Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt 10 a.m., Fouts Park on Ellsworth Street. Sponsor: Lettered Streets Covenant Church, for ages 10 and younger, with crafts, a special area for toddlers, face painting, snacks and prizes from neighborhood businesses for parents, plus family photos. Easter on the Farm 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, $10 admission includes some activities; BelleWood Acres Distilling & Event Center, 6140 Guide Meridian Drive, Lynden. 360-318-7720. Egg hunt and petting zoo, pictures with the Easter Bunny, scavenger hunt, face painting, and an orchard-bin train ride. Extra activities: Pony rides are $5; face painting is $4 to $8; and a country brunch buffet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. is $10 for ages 2 to 10, and $24 for ages 11 and older). Easter Egg Hunt at The Bellingham at Orchard 2 p.m., The Bellingham at Orchard, 848 W. Orchard Drive. Eggs filled with candy, plus face painting, balloons, treats for kids of all ages, and pictures with the Easter Bunny.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt at The C Shop 4 p.m.-6 p.m., The C Shop, 4825 Alderson Road, Birch Bay, 360-371-2070. For children 12 and younger. Easter basket raffle, prizes, free snow cones, and free horse carriage rides.

Sunday

Easter brunch in the Semiahmoo Ballroom 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Semiahmoo Resort, 9565 Semiahmoo Parkway, Blaine. $45 for adults, $23 for children 6-12, free for kids 5 and younger; reserve at 360-318-2000. Brunch features music by pianist Jon Mutchler, plus an Easter egg hunt, petting zoo, and a visit from the Easter Bunny. Reservations required; call 360-318-2044. Easter Egg Hunt at Boundary Bay Brewery 10 a.m., 1107 Railroad Ave. Brunch-style feast from 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.; $24 general, $18 seniors, $12 ages 6-10; free for 5 and younger, with Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. in the beer garden. Reservations: 360-647-5593.

Easter Community Breakfast and Egg Hunt 10 a.m., Bay Horizon Park, 7467 Gemini St., Blaine. 360-384-3444. Free breakfast at Bay Horizon Park activity center, followed by Easter service hosted by Water’s Edge Church. There will be an Easter egg hunt for children at noon, with more than 1,000 eggs, with a special area for preschoolers. Everybody will get a large bag of candy.

Easter Egg hunt 10:15-11:05 a.m., Christ Lutheran Church, 5904 Vista Drive, Ferndale, 360-384-1422 Egg hunt between 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. worship services. Hunts for preschoolers to first-graders, and second- through fifth-graders begin in the Fellowship Hall at 10:15 a.m. Free brunch follows the hunt.

Easter Egg Hunt 10:30 a.m.-10:40 a.m., First Christian Church, 495 E. Bakerview Road, 360-734-6821. For toddlers through fifth-graders. Bring your own bag or basket. Weather permitting, the egg hunt will take place in the field.
