Bars and Bands: Polecat celebrates new album March 11 at Buffalo

Downtown Sounds favorite Polecat celebrates its new album, “Into the Wind,” Friday, March 11, at The Wild Buffalo, 208 W. Holly St. Fiddler Cayley Schmid, who has headed up two music festivals in Bellingham, partners with Jeremy Elliott’s Telecaster tones in what’s described as an “Allman Brothers-esque blend,” with Karl Olson on percussion and Richard Reeves on upright bass. Band leader and vocalist (and Schmid’s husband) Aaron Guest’s baritone vocals and 12-string guitar glue it all together.

Polecat hits the road with Yonder Mountain String Band after Fridays’ party and embarks on a headlining tour in April. Bellingham funk band Baby Cakes opens. Doors at 8 p.m., show at 9. Tickets: $10.

Barracuda lands at Skagit Casino

Orange County rockers at the Main Street
