“Bury Me Standing,” “Seven Skeletons Found in the Yard” and “These Laughing Bones” are three tracks from Portland, Ore.’s Three for Silver, who will play at 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Bellingham’s Swillery Whiskey Bar, 118 W. Holly St. Cover for the Bellingham show is $5.
The band’s sound can be compared to Bellingham’s Bar Tabac and The Penny Stinkers, or Colorado’s Devotchka — but in addition to a growly Tom Waits-ish bass singer, Lucas Warford (a hard-strummer on bass banjo and contrabasin) Three for Silver’s sound is complemented by sweet soprano Willo Sertain and by wild violinist Greg Allison. Fretts opens.
