YA novelist at Village Books
Seattle writer Jennifer Longo — a former actress and playwright — visits Bellingham this weekend to discuss her just-released second young adult novel, “Up to This Pointe.”
Longo will discuss her novel, which is part Antarctic adventure, part historical fiction and part teen romance, free at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 at Village Books, 1200 11th St.
Longo says the book is about learning how to fail successfully.
Kirkus Reviews calls it “A moving love letter to dance, dreams, and San Francisco.” It’s getting a 4.1 rating at Goodreads.com.
Her first book, the 2014 novel “Six Feet Over It,” was a 4 1/2-star selection at Amazon.com with a 3.58 rating at Goodreads and received a coveted starred review from Kirkus. It was a Washington State Book Award finalist.
