Learn science of crystal structures

Make sugar, salt and borax crystals during presentations this weekend that address the geometric building blocks.

Crystalline structures are the focus of free Hardware Science sessions at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Ace Hardware, in Sehome Village shopping center.

“We will be looking at how crystals form and the differences between the various structures,” said presenter Ian McKee. “It will be a great opportunity to let up-and-coming scientists visibly see how crystals form, what causes this, and how they look at a large and small scale.”
