Christmas music, films on tap in Bellingham
For an out-of-the-ordinary twist on Christmas music and movies, try these events in Bellingham this week:
▪ Bellingham Ukulele Orchestra, a 20-member ensemble, performs Christmas music in its unique style during a free concert from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, in the downstairs Lecture Room at Bellingham Public Library, 201 Central Ave.
▪ Musicians on guitar, wooden recorders, cello, viola and mandolin perform carols from old England from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays in December at Book Fare Cafe, on the top floor of Village Books, 1200 11th Ave.
▪ For film fans, a selection of animated holiday classics will play on the digital screen from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, in the SkillShare area on the first floor of Bellingham Public Library, 210 Central Ave.
▪ A film version of “a popular Christmas-themed ballet” will play on the digital screen at 1, 3 and 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, in the SkillShare area of Bellingham Public Library.
▪ Films of holiday concerts from around the world will play continuously Wednesday, Dec. 23, in the SkillShare area of Bellingham Public Library.
