Families: Kids can try ice hockey free at Sportsplex

Whatcom County Amateur Hockey Association hosts a Try Hockey for Free clinic for children ages 4 to 9 at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Bellingham Sportsplex, at Civic Athletic Complex at Lakeway Drive and Orleans Street.

Birch Equipment Rental and Sales is sponsoring the event, and providing extra equipment so participants can get more ice time.

The hockey association is a nonprofit, volunteer organization for youths age 4-17 in Whatcom, Skagit and Island counties. Players compete against teams in the U.S. and Canada. The coaching staff is USA Hockey- and BC Hockey-certified.
