Look deep into the Padilla Bay nature center’s fish tanks during a free aquarium tour and fish feeding from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Breazeale Interpretive Center, 10441 Bayview-Edison Road, in the coastal Skagit Valley town of Bay View.

Admission to the center is free, but donations are accepted.

You’ll see sea stars, sea cucumbers, pipefish, and other creatures that inhabit the waters and undersea eelgrass meadows of Padilla Bay, a sensitive estuary in the Skagit River delta region. The Breazeale Interpretive Center offers natural-history displays and small aquariums that feature local sea life.

Mark Olson, the center’s aquarist, gives a guided tour of the exhibits and discusses the importance of this critical habitat.
