Festival: Art in the Park Sept. 12-13 in Ferndale

Ferndale Arts Commission hosts the fourth annual Art in the Park with visual and performing artists, kids’ art activities, artist demonstrations, food and music, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12-13, at Pioneer Pavilion Community Center, 2007 Cherry St.

The event includes demonstrations and sales of fused glass, fiber and wearable art, paper quilts and sculptures, body soaps and lotions, mixed media, oil paints on canvas, wire-beaded jewelry, photography, and bottle lights.

Performing artists include drumming instructor Nathan Matson, who will lead a drumming circle; marimba band Kuva Rhythm Project; Welcome Marionettes, who will present “Popeye’s Picnic;” Irish musicians and dancers from Bellingham’s Ceili Club; marimba band Kungana; Celtic harpist Kathie Hardy; and others will offer entertainment for all ages.
