Bainbridge Island’s Jonathan Evison shares his new book, “This is Your Life, Harriet Chance!” as the guest author at the Chuckanut Radio Hour on Friday, Sept. 11, at Whatcom Community College’s Heiner Center Theatre, 237 W. Kellogg Road.

Here’s the plot: With Bernard, her husband of 55 years, now in the grave, 78-year-old Harriet Chance impulsively sets sail on an ill-conceived Alaskan cruise that her late husband had planned. But what she hoped would be a voyage leading to a new lease on life becomes a surprising and revelatory journey into her past.

Evison is the author of “The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving” and “West of Here.”

Guest musician is electric folk-rocker Jake Werrion, who is the bassist for Bellingham’s Sarah In The Wild.
