Grammy-award winner Kimya Dawson returns for an encore performance from her recent sold-out show at Make.Shift, 306 Flora St., in a gig with one-man punk band Hamell on Trial — real name: Ed Hamell — at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28.

Singer-guitarist Dawson has seven solo records. She has collaborated with Aesop Rock, and was a member of the beloved Moldy Peaches.

Hamell on Trial has released 10 records, most of them on Ani Difranco’s label Righteous Babe Records. His music is loud, fast, and showered with politics with a wicked sense of humor.

Admission for the all-ages concert is $10, available in advance at Brown Paper Tickets.
