The family band Lobo Del Mar will present a free concert flavored with international music and dance from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28 at Maritime Heritage Park, Holly Street and Central Avenue.

After many years in Hawaii, the dancers and musicians of Lobo Del Mar recently moved to Olympic Peninsula. Over the years, the band has picked up a variety of cultural influences; clad in kilts and often accompanied by bagpipes, the group's Scotch-Irish heritage is noticeable from the moment they walk onto the stage.

The years their family spent in Mexico are reflected in the strong presence of Mexican songs in their repertoire, as well as their time spent in the South Pacific.

Audiences can enjoy a wide range of cultural elements in one show, including belly dance, flamenco, Polynesian and hula dance, and Irish step dance.

Bellingham Parks and Recreation and Downtown Bellingham Partnership present the band, in conjunction with the Levitt AMP Bellingham Music Series.
