Art: Downtown Bellingham Plein-Air Paint Out Aug. 29
The 10th annual Bellingham Plein-Air Paint Out takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, around Holly and Bay streets. Thirty artists will create art outdoors during the event.
This year there will also be music by Tom Harding, Craig Ostrom, Mike Lanz and Dan Swan while the artists are at work.
The event, sponsored by Studio UFO, Mindport Gallery, and Fourth Corner Frames, is designed to promote public awareness and appreciation of plein-air painting, and art in Bellingham in general.
An artists’ reception open to the public will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 18 at Mindport Gallery, 210 W. Holly St., with a display of thumbnail sketches along with the finished paintings and refreshments. An awards ceremony will take place at 7 p.m.
