Craving a carnival? Bellis Fair mall brings thrill rides, games to Bellingham
The Bellis Fair mall is bringing a carnival to Bellingham, including a variety of rides and games, for one weekend only.
Rainier Amusements, a carnival ride and game business based in Oregon, will host a pop-up carnival in Bellingham from Thursday, July 9 through Saturday, July 11 in the mall’s parking lot.
“It is always fun for us to bring events here to the mall. Especially since we have so much free parking for people to attend events here. This summer we had the water circus come, now the carnival, we have a local car club doing cars and coffee every month on the second Saturday of each month (9am-11am in front of Food court), and we are working on an RV show for mid-August,” Bellis Fair General Manager David Prince told The Bellingham Herald.
“The reasons for bringing these things is the same as it has always been. Try to provide fun activities for different folks in the community to come on our property who will hopefully not only enjoy themselves at the events but also so they might come into the mall and do business with one of our many tenants,” Prince said.
The amusement company is bringing a variety of rides for all ages, including larger thrill rides such as the “Shockwave,” “Rave,” “Loop,” “Pirate Ship,” and the “Ali Baba,” a 50-foot tall swinging ride.
Smaller rides will also be available, including bumper cars, a super slide, Ferris wheel and smaller roller coaster-type rides. Rainier Amusements will also be at the King County Fair in July and the Pierce County Fair in August.
The carnival space is free to enter, but ride tickets cost 50 cents each. Each ride costs 2-12 tickets, depending on the ride. Unlimited ride wristbands cost $35 per person Thursday and Friday, and $40 per person Saturday.
The carnival will be open from 3 to 10 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday at 1 Bellis Fair Parkway in Bellingham.
