Why Stevie Nicks was a big part of Taylor Swift's wedding day

Just like the white-winged dove, Stevie Nicks indeed swooped in to perform at the lavish wedding ceremony of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

"Good Morning America" anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos attended the top-secret July 3 nuptials inside the fortress of Madison Square Garden, and shared a few details with viewers the morning after the epic event.

"We can confirm that Stevie Nicks did perform," Roberts said on the show, without going into further detail (guests reportedly signed NDAs). A representative for Nicks had no further information.

After Swift donned the creative "Stevie Knicks" T-shirt while attending the NBA Finals last month at MSG, there was little doubt that the enchanting Fleetwood Mac maven would attend the nuptials.

The duo's history stretches back to the 2010 Grammy Awards, where they performed the Swift hit "You Belong With Me" and the Fleetwood Mac classic "Rhiannon." In 2024, Nicks penned a very Stevie-like poem for the liner notes of Swift's "The Tortured Poets Department" album and last year, Swift elaborated on their relationship during an appearance on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert."

"I feel very lucky she's lended her very magical, wonderful, wise approach to life to me," Swift said.

Nicks was also possibly joined at the mic by Swift, who, according to The New York Times, arrived at the venue early July 3 to soundcheck with the legendary singer.

Another musical legend rumored to have performed at the ceremony is Paul McCartney. The Beatles icon was photographed leaving the ceremony, and according to The Daily Mail, sang "I Want to Hold Your Hand" for guests. USA TODAY has reached out to McCartney's representatives.
