Hanwha Life Esports Sweep Team Secret Whales at MSI 2026

Hanwha Life Esports opened the MSI 2026 Knockout Stage with a commanding 3-0 sweep over Team Secret Whales. The LCK's first seed controlled the series from start to finish. TSW showed moments of promise but struggled to match HLE's pace. Here's a recap of how the opening series unfolded.

HLE got off to a dominant start in the first game, building an early gold lead through strong laning and proactive map play. TSW showed flashes of resistance during several early skirmishes but struggled to keep pace as the game progressed. With their growing advantage, HLE gradually took control before comfortably closing out the opening game.

HLE once again found success in the second game with proactive plays that secured another early lead. TSW mounted a spirited comeback attempt behind Nguyễn "Pun" Đăng Khoa's Volibear, who became a major threat during the mid game teamfights. However, HLE found the perfect late game engagement to halt TSW's momentum and move one win away from the series victory.

TSW finally broke HLE's early game momentum by taking the lead in the third game. The LCP representatives delivered their strongest performance of the series and remained competitive through the early and mid game. HLE ultimately outplayed TSW in the later stages to complete the comeback and secure a commanding 3-0 sweep.

With the victory, HLE advances to the next round of the MSI 2026 Knockout Stage, where they will face the winner of G2 Esports and Top Esports. Meanwhile, TSW drops to the lower bracket and must win their remaining matches to keep their tournament hopes alive.
