Mount Baker Theatre announces lineup of performances for 100th-anniversary season
Bellingham’s Mount Baker Theatre is celebrating its 100th anniversary and recently announced its lineup of Broadway shows, bands, movies and live entertainment coming to its stage this season. There’s also an update to the historic building in the works.
The Mount Baker Theatre announced it 2026-2027 centennial season lineup, “the largest season in the theatre’s history,” on June 8.
“The season will bring more than 35 national and international tours to the historic main stage, including six Broadway tours. Featuring a wide range of performing arts, the season reflects the theater’s century-long commitment of enriching and connecting the community to exceptional and dynamic performances. This record-breaking centennial season is made possible through the generous support of returning season sponsors Neeter House of Luxury and Peoples Bank,” a June 8 press release states.
The theater will celebrate its official 100-year birthday on April 29, 2027 with a viewing of the first film projected in the theater back in 1927, “Slide, Kelly, Slide.” The viewing will feature a live score played by resident organist Dennis James, who will play on the original 1927 Mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ that was recently restored.
The theater is also known for bringing in touring Broadway shows, Grammy award-winning musicians, stand-up comedians and more each year.

Tickets for the centennial season shows go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6. A presale is available for Mount Baker Theatre members at 10 a.m. Monday, June 15.
“For 100 years, the Mount Baker Theatre has brought people together through unforgettable shared experiences,” said Lorin O’Grady, MBT marketing director, said in the news release. “This Centennial Season celebrates not only the history of this extraordinary theater, but the community that has sustained it for generations and the future audiences who will continue to fill these seats for years to come.”
The theater has also updated its logo to celebrate its 100th year, and will be making updates and restorations to the historic building during the centennial season.
“This work includes carpeting replacement, updates to the ticketing kiosk, chandelier winches, restoration of the theater’s original pipe organ, and over 1,500 new seats in the main auditorium. Not only will these restorations improve patron comfort and worker safety, the work will ensure the Mount Baker Theatre stays bright and shining for generations to come. Community members are invited to contribute to this work through MBT’s centennial campaign,” the news release states.
Mount Baker Theatre is located at 104 North Commercial St. in downtown Bellingham.
