Trader Joe's Just Dropped Summer 2026 Insulated Mini Totes-and Shoppers Are Already Lining Up
Few things are as precious to Trader Joe's shoppers as the coveted seasonal mini insulated totes. And when a new line drops, fans know that patience isn't a virtue. TJ's debuted the summer 2026 designs on May 20, and customers are already lining up to snag the sweet styles.
What's new for the summer collection? This year, Trader Joe's is releasing six color/pattern combos: Bold blue and lime green stripes, pink and pastel red (it looks more coral to us) stripes, and four two-toned store silhouette totes in violet, blue, orange, or green with contrasting pastel pink, hot pink, green, or blue zippers.
The insulated minis are perfect for packing a teeny-tiny picnic, your lunch, a road-trip snack, or a few icy-cold beverages. And, like always, TJ's price is just right ($3.99).
Like other iterations of the bag, this one is headed towards collectible status. And that means shoppers are already lining up trying to get one (or tons) for themselves. Social media sites are filled with posts from people who can attest to the long lines. One Redditor posted a pic of the crowd outside of a California store, writing, "Sent my husband into the trenches. This is a little after 8:00 a.m. Even more people behind him. He did score three bags."
When another Redditor asked what all the hoopla was about, a TJ's fan answered, "They are super collectible and these people flip them on eBay for like 10 times the value." If you're out of the Trader Joe's tote bag reseller market buzz loop, yes, this is true. And yes, this is already happening. We spotted the new bags already listed on eBay for over $24 each! It wasn't just one eBay seller who was trying to make a few bucks from the trendy totes. We also found a set of three for $42.99, one for $23.95, and another for $20 (plus over $5 for delivery).
If you're thinking of snapping up dozens of bags and making a bundle, you're out of luck. Most Trader Joe's stores put a hard limit on the number each customer can buy. A Reddit user from Oakland, California shared, "Line was about 70 people long, limited to one set of six," and another posted that they arrived at their local store by 8:15 a.m. and, "They were allowing customers to purchase one set of three. By the time I came up, they told me if the line was done, I could come back for more…My coworker showed up to the store closer to 9, and she said they sold out."
The lines weren't just in California stores. Shoppers in Nevada, Texas, Michigan, Maryland, and Virginia also reported long waits and bag limits. So if you haven't scooped up one (or a set of six) yet, may the odds be ever in your favor!
