The Famous Voice Behind Home Depot Ads Is Finally Revealed-and Fans Definitely Know Him

For over a decade, you've heard his voice on Home Depot television and radio commercials. Now,Palm Royale star Josh Lucas is finally taking center stage for the beloved home improvement brand in a dynamic new FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign.

In the commercial, Lucas teams up with global sports icon David Beckham to transform a backyard into "the ultimate watch party zone." Speaking from a Home Depot via telephone, Lucas guides Beckham-and viewers-through the challenge with the flair of a sports commentator.

"Is David Beckham ready? I suppose he thinks he can build it like Beckham," Lucas says, with a playful nod to the 2002 movie, Bend It Like Beckham. Speaking with PEOPLEabout the commercial, Lucas explained how it all came to fruition: "When the company came to me with the idea, at the time they called it 'Revealing the Voice.' I was like, 'Are you kidding me? It's something I would be so totally honored to do.'"

The Yellowstone actor also noted that fans tend to recognize his voice more than his face, thanks to his long-running Home Depot gig. "I'll walk into a Home Depot, and people are like, 'Oh my God.' Oftentimes, they say to me, 'Oh, I recognized your voice before I actually put it together that it was you.'"

As for working with both Home Depot and Beckham, Lucas is humbled to have his passions collide in the best of ways. He told PEOPLE, "My grandfather was a builder. I can hack anything, so I definitely feel like I am lucky that I get to be part of a company that I, frankly, would use whether I was involved or not."

"I played soccer growing up. I'm a huge FIFA World Cup fan. And I'm a massive David Beckham fan. I can't even like overstate it, frankly. I've been joking with my wife [ABC7 meteorologist/reporter Brianna Ruffalo] ever since that I have the worst man crush ever now on David Beckham," Lucas added. "It's rare that you walk away from a day of work like that and you feel, like all the stars aligned."
