BTS to make special appearance at American Music Awards
May 20 (UPI) -- South Korean boy band BTS will make a special appearance at the American Music Awards on Monday.
The event Monday at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas will mark the K-pop group's first awards show appearance in four years.
BTS is nominated for three awards at this year's AMAs: Artist of the Year, Song of the Summer for "Swim" and Best K-pop Artist.
The group has won 11 AMAs thus far.
The 2026 American Music Awards will take place Monday on Memorial Day and air at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. The show will also stream on Paramount+.
Queen Latifah will host the ceremony, with performers to include Katseye, Twenty One Pilots, Keith Urban, Maluma, Sombr, Karol G, Billy Idol, New Kids on the Block, and The Pussycat Dolls with Busta Rhymes.
Taylor Swift leads the nominees with eight nominations, followed by Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter and Sombr with seven nominations each.
Honorees include Darius Rucker (Veterans Voice Award), Billy Idol (Lifetime Achievement Award), and Karol G (International Artist Award of Excellence).
