HGTV Star Addresses Mistake That Led to Sudden Exit From Show

HGTV star Alison Victoria was fired as the co-host of Battle on the Beach-and she's explaining what happened.

"I said that 'Battle on the Beach' was canceled," she told the Daily Mail. "Now, that word should not have been used. I should have said it was ‘not renewed.' That's the language that I should have used."

Indeed, Victoria had made some comments about the show on her Pap Smear podcast in July 2025.

"I did a show called Battle on the Beach. I love that show. It was so fun and funny. And then all of a sudden, I watched the episode, I'm like, ‘Well, where'd all that [great content] go?' I get it, it's a lot of content to try to put into 42 minutes, but where is it? Where's the great editing?" she said on the July 1 episode.

"You'll lose a show that way. I truly believe that," she continued. "And 'Battle on the Beach' did not get picked back up, which is sad because it was like adult spring break. I believe it was all editing. You have it, use it. Be funny, use the funny, go with us on that journey because it's most likely going to resonate with the viewer."

Victoria said that she didn't have any hard feelings after she was let go.

"I didn't feel mad, I didn't feel sad. I just was like, ‘OK,'" she told the Daily Mail.

Victoria is still associated with HGTV and is waiting to see if her series Sin City Rehab gets renewed. As for Battle on the Beach, the show, which was recently renewed, will feature Ty Pennington, Sarah Baeumler, and Mika Kleinschmidt as hosts/mentors on its upcoming season. It will air beginning on June 1.
