Jennifer Aniston Posts a 'Think Before You Bang' Hair Regret Gallery - Fans and Sandra Bullock Disagree

Few celebrities have a more storied relationship with their own hair than Jennifer Aniston. She has spent three decades setting trends (perhaps accidentally), and on Thursday she apparently decided to issue a public service announcement about one of them.

The Morning Show star, 57, shared an Instagram post on Thursday, May 14, reflecting on some of her most popular banged looks throughout the years. The actress kicked off her post with a photo of herself with brunette hair and bangs in the film Horrible Bosses, before sharing additional photos of her throughout the 2000s and 2010s with side bangs and curtain bangs.

Alongside a carousel of throwback photos showing her sporting fringe in her various film and television roles, Aniston captioned the post 'Think before you bang,' appearing to issue a gentle warning to anyone considering the cut. The final image in the post drove the point home; a cartoon of a turtle saying it took a hundred years to grow out the style.

Aniston's infamous haircut was courtesy of her longtime stylist Chris McMillan, who previously admitted he was trying to convince her to try something different when he created 'The Rachel.' He acknowledged the look demanded maintenance from the start. 'It's high-maintenance, not a wash-and-go style,' he said. 'You need to blow-dry with a round brush to help define all those flicks.'

Aniston has been candid about that upkeep burden before. During a past appearance on the Graham Norton Show, she described McMillan's creative enthusiasm as something of a mixed blessing. 'He didn't think about, like, 'Oh she's going to have to do this herself. I'm having a great time being creative with this blowdryer.'

Sandra Bullock quickly defended the hairstyle in the comments, writing simply, 'You wore them best.' Fans piled in to agree, with comments insisting Aniston looks 'amazing in any style.' One commenter summed up the online reaction: 'Jen's hair has been setting impossible standards for decades and somehow still keeps winning.'

Other fans were equally firm in their defense, with one writing, 'LOVE your bangs and I want them too now,' and another adding, 'No because your bangs are goals.'

Aniston launched her haircare brand, LolaVie, in 2021, and that has only deepened the association between her public identity and her hair. Whatever she thinks of the bangs, they clearly belong to the rest of us as much as they ever belonged to her.
