‘Scarface’ mansion listed for $237M. See inside Key Biscayne waterfront estate
A South Florida estate where parts of “Scarface” were filmed just hit the market.
The Key Biscayne waterfront home, with an asking price of $237 million, also appeared in the credits of “Miami Vice.”
If the house at 485 W. Matheson Dr. sells for anything close to the asking price, it would be the most expensive home sale in Miami-Dade County. Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg recently broke the county’s previous record when he purchased a $170 million mansion earlier this year in the so-called “Billionaire Bunker” of Indian Creek Village.
The 2.38-acre Key Biscayne property was once part of what was known as President Richard Nixon’s “winter White House.” Nixon owned an assemblage of waterfront properties on Key Biscayne, and he visited the compound more than 50 times during his presidency.
The five-bedroom house that was just listed was not there during Nixon’s presidency. Miami-Dade property records show it was built in 1981. Shortly after it was completed, it was immortalized as the home of Tony Montana’s rival drug lord Frank Lopez in the 1983 movie classic “Scarface.”
If the home’s storied past isn’t enough, the property also has 862 feet of waterfront access, a helipad and views of the Miami skyline across Biscayne Bay.
The property is owned by the founder and CEO of investment firm United Capital Markets John Devaney, and it was listed by luxury real estate brokerage the Jills Zeder Group.
