Teri Hatcher Sends Fans Wild With Unexpected ‘Desperate Housewives' Reunion
Internet users have been sent into a frenzy by the unexpected reunion between Teri Hatcher and her Desperate Housewives co-star, James Denton, who played her on-screen love interest.
Hatcher, who played the lovable and imperfect Susan Mayer on Desperate Housewives, took to social media to delight fans of the show with her and Denton's reunion. Denton played Mayer's on-and-off-again husband Mike Delfino throughout all eight seasons of the show before his (spoiler alert) tragic death in a drive-by shooting.
The collection of images shared on Instagram (@officialterihatcher) show Hatcher, 60, and Denton, 62, sitting side by side and laughing with each other. The actress also couldn't resist sharing some throwback photos of the duo from their time on the show, which ran from 2004 until 2012.
The caption alongside the Instagram post reads: “Our little family from then to now…I think we've still got it.”
In just a matter of hours, the post has generated over 94,000 likes and more than 1,700 comments on Instagram at the time of writing.
While Desperate Housewives may have ended in 2012, Hatcher reunited with Denton for an episode of her podcast, Desperately Devoted. During the show, Hatcher and her co-hosts, Andrea Bowen (who played Mayer's daughter) and Emerson Tenney, rewatch and discuss Desperate Housewives with guests.
This time, it was Denton's turn on the couch, and fans cannot cope with his latest appearance.
The latest episode of Desperately Devoted saw Denton share behind-the-scenes anecdotes and even some mischievous moment that occurred while filming.
There has been an announcement that a Desperate Housewives reboot series called Wisteria Lane is in the works. The show is being executive-produced by Kerry Washington and is set to be streamed on Hulu.
Evidently, it doesn't matter how many years have passed since the show (or how many times Mayer and Delfino broke up and then got back together), there is still plenty of clamor to keep up with the antics of the residents of Wisteria Lane.
Since the photos went viral, many social-media users took to the Instagram comments to laud the iconic reunion between cast members.
One Instagram user wrote: “Going to pretend Mike and Susan lived happily ever after.”
Another person replied: “you guys don't even know what this is doing for my heart and soul.”
A third commenter added: “So happy to see you both together again!”
One comment reads: “the best family on Wisteria Lane.”
Newsweek contacted representatives for Hatcher via email for comment.
