No Father’s Day plans? Check out these Whatcom County events and activities

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 15, and if you’re looking to celebrate the father or grandfather in your life, these Whatcom County events and restaurants are celebrating the occasion this weekend.

Father’s Day Car Show

Bellewood Farms and Distillery is hosting its ninth annual Father’s Day Car Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 15. The event will include a free car show with more than 200 cars, as well as a special menu at the farm’s cafe, distillery tastings and a lineup of local beer, ciders and wine.

Father’s Day live music at Boundary Bay

Boundary Bay Brewery is hosting special live music for Fathers’ Day at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 15. Country Rose, a country and Americana band, will perform starting at 6 p.m. in the beer garden. Doors open at 6 p.m., and tickets cost $10 per person or $25 per family, and can be purchased online in advance. The event and beer garden is open for all ages.

Boundary Bay Brewery is located at 1107 Railroad Ave. in Bellingham.

Deming Logging Show

The annual Deming Logging Show is returning for another year, and the event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

“Originally established in 1963, our show was inspired by the need to financially assist loggers who were injured in the woods in Whatcom County,” the event’s website states. “Our grounds come alive the second full weekend in June each year for our annual Deming Logging Show with events and exhibitions to display the skills, tools, and technology used in the logging industry

Event competitions include ax throwing, speed climbing, log rolling, log cutting and additional feats. Food will also be available for purchase, such as BBQ beef and salmon, baked potatoes, strawberry shortcake, breakfast, taco salads, snacks and beverages.

Admission costs $10 for adults, $5 for senior kids, and is free for children ages 5 and under.

The Deming Logging Show is at 3295 Cedarville Road in Bellingham.

Live music at Trackside

Kulshan Brewing Co. will host Dogwood, an “old school Americana band,” from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The event is free and open for all ages.
