Music: Whetherman plays Americana Aug. 8 at Kulshan Brewery

Whetherman is the moniker of Nicholas Williams, who has independently released six full-length albums of his original “apple-pie lyrics” Americana tunes, accompanied by his acoustic guitar and harmonica. He will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Kulshan Brewery, 2238 James St.

A finalist for the 2015 Planet Bluegrass Rocky Mountain Folk Festival Songwriter Competition, Williams was also featured on Sonicbids, a DIY resource for musicians, for the article “How to Make It as a DIY One-Man Band: Advice from Whetherman.”

He has been touring 180 shows a year in over 40 states since 2012, and has performed throughout the United Kingdom and western Europe on his own.
