Morrison Glass Art announces an exhibition of “The Threshold Project,” comprised of 12 hand-blown glass sculptures by Christopher Morrison, opening at noon Thursday, Aug. 6, at Western Washington University’s Western Gallery.
“The Threshold Project” features Morrison’s idea of the artist journey as inspired by Joseph Campbell, and explores his concept of “crossing the threshold.” The purpose of Morrison’s art is to compel viewers into action, resulting in a movement toward shared stewardship of the planet, which includes building community. As people exit the gallery, they have the opportunity to write their own intentions for the future concerning sustainable stewardship.
A public reception is at 4 p.m. Aug. 8. The exhibit runs through Aug. 29. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
