Western Washington University department of theater and dance presents “Commedia in the Park,” directed by WWU theater faculty member Rich Brown, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, through Saturday, Aug. 8, and at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, on the lawn of Old Main on Western’s campus. The performances are free and for people of all ages.
Presented by WWU theater students enrolled in Brown’s summer course “Advanced Acting Topics,” “commedia“ is a highly physical, masked comedy performance originating from the Italian Renaissance. The show features well-known stock characters, such as tricky servants, young lovers, and foolish old men and women.
