Festival: Music, crafts and family fun Aug. 1 at Make.Shift

Make.Shift’s fourth annual Block Party features wet-and-wild family fun downtown from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, in the 300 block of Flora Street.

Attractions include a dunk tank, chalk art, a “slip-n-slide of doom,” and a Shred.Off guitar competition, plus music by Moongrass, Dogs, IJI, Heavy Petting, Scruffager, Gonzo, Thimble Vs Needle and Cuff Lynx. Food vendors include 250 Flora and Sweet Petite, as well as a beer garden.

Tickets are $5 advance at Make.Shift, Community Food Co-op, and Avalon Music; and $7 day of event. Proceeds support Make.Shift, a DIY venue dedicated to innovative, alternative art and music.
