Composer and pianist Scott Cossu performs at 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Conway Muse, 18444 Spruce St., in Conway; at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Lummi Island Congregational Church, 3913 Legoe Bay Road; and at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3, at Lairmont Manor, 405 Fieldston Road.
He will perform jazz and blues with guitarist Lonnie Mardis, and will introduce his latest work, an album of lullabies. Cossu was one of the first New Age performers with Windham Hill Artists to join founders Will Ackerman and Alex De Grassi in their new label out of Palo Alto, Calif. He signed with Windham Hill the same day as Michael Hedges, and they joined George Winston on the label.
Tickets for Friday’s and Monday’s shows are available in advance through Brown Paper Tickets. Tickets for the Conway Muse are $12; tickets for Monday’s concert are $18 and $15 in advance; $25 and $20 at the door. Proceeds from Monday’s concert benefit Bellingham Food Bank.
Lummi Island tickets are by donation, $12 suggested, with proceeds to benefit Lummi Island Heritage Trust.
