Music: Country honky-tonk from Whitey Morgan at the Buffalo
Waylon Jennings-esque troubadour Whitey Morgan and his band, The 78’s, performs at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at the Wild Buffalo, 208 W. Holly St.
The band’s latest release is “Sonic Ranch.” While they hail from Flint, Mich., Morgan and his band are closer to the old-fashioned honky-tonk heart of Nashville than to country music. They’re on a national tour that includes stops in Reno, San Francisco and Louisville.
Twenty VIP tickets are available for $75 and includes an autographed CD, admission to a meet-and-greet and sound check, VIP koozie, and a ticket to the show. Regular tickets are $15. Tony Martinez opens.
