The Shoestring Circus will be setting up for its upcoming shows at The Portal container village, which run from May 19-29 at Waypoint Park.

The big top tent will be erected Saturday, organizers said.

The new circus company was founded by four Bellingham-based circus artists, Nicole Laumb, Justin Therrien, Sadye Osterloh, and Poki McCorkle. The owners and founders have over 50 years of combined experience as circus artists and producers and started the company in 2022, according to a news release.

“The show will feature skilled performers woven into a whimsical story all happening under the classic striped big top tent,” the news release stated.
