Families: Hang out with a firefighter at South Whatcom Library

Firefighters from South Whatcom Fire Authority will put down their fire hoses and pick up books Friday, July 24, in the South Whatcom Library meeting room. From 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., they will read aloud to children, give tours of a firetruck, and hang out with the kids.

The event comes during the library’s “Every Hero Has a Story” summer reading program, which runs through Aug. 31.

Kindergarteners through fifth-graders are welcome to come to the library at 10 Barn View Court to participate. Details: Children’s Services Specialist Tammy LaPlante, 360-305-3600, ext. 219.
